MDPC-X Braided Sleeve Heat shrink-Less Method
Below is overview of the famous "shrink-less" fixing method for MDPC-X braided cable sleeve. This technique is used on the ends of wires that are terminating into a connector (EG: Molex connector). A very handy technique for that clean sleeving look!
Shrink-less sleeving method:
To melt the cable sleeving onto the cable, you typically add heat shrink tubing over the cut area of the sleeving, when the sleeving is in place on the cable. Then you apply 250°C or more to the heat shrink. The cable sleeving will melt underneath the heat shrink and creates a bond with the object underneath. Then you remove the heat shrink tubing, as demonstrated below:

As you can see, the braided sleeve is melted onto both the cable, as well as the start of the terminal, fixing the braided sleeve in place without the need for heat shrink, which quite often is too large to fit inside the back end of certain connectors.
